UPDATE: Flu Visitor Restrictions Lifted at United Memorial Medical Center

Today’s Update: Announcement from Daniel Ireland, MBA, FACHE, President, United Memorial Medical Center, and Linda Easton, RN, BS, Infection Prevention Coordinator

In alignment with declining influenza activity throughout our area, visitor restrictions were lifted today at United Memorial Medical Center and its affiliates.

Symptom-free visitors who are 14 years of age or older were welcome at UMMC facilities with lifted restrictions after 3 p.m. on Monday, May 1. People with fever or respiratory illness symptoms should delay their hospital visits until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours.

Rochester Regional Health employees must continue to adhere to the masking policy throughout all system facilities until notice of the end of prevalent influenza season is given by the New York State Health Commissioner. Vaccinated employees should continue to wear and display their Flu Stops Here badge backers until new ones are issued for the 2017 – 18 influenza season.

Thank you for your understanding and participation in this important initiative to keep our patients, visitors, employees, and volunteers safe and healthy throughout this flu season.
