For over four decades, Rochester General Hospital’s Kidd Fund has been committed to expanding medical research by encouraging the exploration, investigation, and analysis of healthcare based problems. Since 2009, more than 280,000 research dollars have been awarded exclusively to Rochester General Hospital clinical employees.
Now, it’s your turn to get involved! The Rochester General Hospital Research Institute (RGHRI) is accepting research project applications now through September 1, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. You don’t need a research background to apply.
What’s at stake?
Awards of up to $20,000 for faculty projects and up to $2,000 for resident projects are available.
What are the criteria?
Rochester General faculty and residents must identify several key principles including:
- Study objectives, hypotheses, and aims
- Anticipated outcomes
- Timeline and budget
What is the evaluation process?
A team of RGHRI reviewers evaluates each project based on the importance of the topic, the likelihood it can be completed as outlined, and its ability to make a strong impact on its respective field. The project must also align with RGHRI’s mission to improve health through science.

The Kidd Fund was named after Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard Kidd, who made the original gift in 1972.
