Congratulations to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital’s Wayne County Rural Health Network (WCRHN) for being chosen as a benchmark in the socioeconomic factors category of the American Hospital Association (AHA) publication, Community Connections: Ideas & Innovations for Hospital Leaders 2016: Case Examples.
Newark-Wayne’s WCRHN was highlighted for benefitting thousands of residents in Wayne County by collaborating, consolidating, sharing services and increasing efficiencies to improve community health and meeting the needs of underserved populations. More than 17 healthcare programs have been implemented in Wayne County.
Also of note: Rochester Regional Health’s Refugee Healthcare Program was recognized by the AHA in the access and quality section of the Community Connections: Ideas & Innovations for Hospital Leaders 2016: Case Examples.
The Refugee Healthcare Program was recognized for assisting more than 5,000 refugees in Rochester find culturally competent primary care providers. The program also provides interpretation and care coordination services.
